The Puerto Rican Artist Sebastian Vallejo latest series ” Wind, Light and Color”. Vallejo pays tribute to Nature’s all-encompassing power and beauty. Each painting recalls the expansive and improvisational qualities in nature, specifically from the Caribbean. The artist’s work also integrates chromatic fabrics that carry visual and cultural allusions to the island from where he is from. His unique process involves a direct transfer of the fabric’s floral patterns onto canvas, which Vallejo then enhances through hand-applied paint in a seemingly haphazard manner that yields a shockingly harmonious ode to color, mark -making and country.
