Aislinn Janek and her Artwork

Aislinn Janek (b. 1993, Youngstown, OH) is a New York City-based interdisciplinary artist. Her work, rooted in painting, sewing, and memory, involves layering acrylic and hand-stitching canvas to create meditative surfaces.

Since 2014, extensive international travel has profoundly shaped her inquiries into human universalities and fragmented memory, with her art embracing ambiguity and inviting contemplation.

Janek has exhibited internationally, with recent solo shows in Japan and upcoming solo exhibitions at McDonough Art Museum, Ohio (Sept 2025), Yu Harada Gallery, Tokyo (2026), and Kawata Gallery, Kobe (2026). She is an alumna of several international residencies.
